To all Barokologadi CPA Members and Members of the Surrounding Villages.
On the 29 May 2020 the Barokologadi CPA Business Partner, ERP (#Elephants_Rhino_People) donated 500 food packages to the BCPA villages (Obakeng, Debrak, Pitsedisulejang and Maretlwana) as well as the surrounding villages (Molatedi, Ramokgolela and Ramotlhajwe) as a contribution to the Covid19 relief program. On the 3rd July they donated yet another 550 food packages to the villages including Sesobe and Supingstad.
These donations are the result of the long term partnership deal between BCPA and ERP on BCPA’s restored land, Melorane. The deal involves the establishment of ecotourism projects to the value of over R140 million which has the potential to create over 200 permanent jobs. The food packages donation brought about a great relief and excitement to the community members at a time when the Corona pandemic has brought so much social and economic mayhem to our country. To the Barokologadi community, such donations served to show the potential benefits that could be reaped from their ancestral land.
This also fits well to the Poverty Alleviation pillar objective of the Barokologadi CPA. With over R500 thousand worth of food relief provided to over 1000 households during this time of need, it really shows that with the establishment of more sustainable projects on Barokologadi land and the continued partnership between Barokologadi CPA and ERP, more plates can be placed on our deserving people’s tables. The BCPA Executive under the leadership of Mr TZ Molwantwa wishes to thank our partner, ERP for this great gesture.
